Looking back towards Amroth Saundersfoot Harbour Monkstone Point
Location 1. As an alternative to walking on the cliffs, at the right state of tide, it;'s possible to walk along the firm sands from Amroth to Saundersfoot. (28Kb) Location 2. Looking across Saundersfoot Harbour. At low tide, the harbour is dry so there is only limited access to the sea. (62Kb) Location 3. Monkstone Point and its little beach, so very typical of the coastline in the area. (43Kb)
Classic Tenby Tenby Roads Tenby Harbour
4. (location 4) The classic view of Tenby, albeit in less-then-ideal conditions. (41Kb) 5. (location 5) North Beach, one of several beaches in Tenby. (43Kb) 6. (location 5) Tenby Harbour. Like Saundersfoot, craft are left high and dry at low water.(64Kb)
Tudor Merchant's Hall
7. (location 5) Tudor Merchant's Hall, Tenby - a National Trust property (41Kb)

Oh dear! The first day in Pembrokeshire and the first overcoast skies for several weeks!. Still, just a fairly short walk to stretch the legs. This is a linear walk with a frequent bus back from Tenby via Saundersfoot to Amroth.

The "offical" path follows the coast as much as possible. However, apart from a few hours either side of high tide, iot is perfectly possible to walk on the sands between Amroth and Saundersfoot (see photo 1). The sand is firm and offers good walking.

At Saundersfoot Harbour, the route follows the main road up hill and offers good views of the Harbour and back along the coast to Amroth (photo 2). Just after St Brides Hotel, turn off to the left and very shortly enter a wooded area. Views of the coast now are more limited with just occasional views - Monkstone Point (photo 3) being one such view. Route finding, however, is very straighforward with good signing throughout (the acorn symbol).

Before long, the path reaches the outer areas of Tenby and the good views return. There are good views across North Beach (photos 4 & 5). Continue on and drop down to the Harbour (photo 6). If time permits, have a look around the Tudor Merchant's hall, owned by the National Trust (photo 7).

Frequent buses return to Amroth from Upper Park Road via Saundersfoot (but maybe seasonal)
